Sept 6, 2012
Orange Beach / Gulf Shores Intimidator deep sea charter fishing boat report - September deep sea fishing forecast, as we move into the great fishing month of September we are excited about cooler weather on the forecast, college football and wonderful deep-sea fishing opportunities.
On the four hour charters you can expect good catches of Spanish and King Mackerel along with Redfish as they start to show up toward the end of this month.
The six-hour charters will continue to see great catches of fish including Vermilion Snapper, White Snapper, King Mackerel and other types of fish as well.
The full day trips will be filled with Amberjack, Grouper, King Mackerel and many other types of fish. I'm sure hurricane Isaac moved some Groupers into the area so you need to come catch some before we catch them all.
As everyone should well know by now,
the fall is my absolute favorite time of year to fish, overnight trips in particular. For over 10 years we have run many many offshore overnight trips with tremendous success, such that this has shaped the course of our business. No other type of trip will offer the diversity that an overnight trip can provide. You could reasonably expect to catch everything and anything including Vermilion Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack, King Mackerel and all of the offshore fish such as Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin and perhaps a Marlin.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores Intimidator deep sea charter fishing boat report - The fishing out of Orange Beach has been very good over the past month, especially since red snapper season has begun.
We have had many successful half-day 6 hour red snapper fishing trips and have had many happy anglers as a result. The king mackerel fishing over the last couple of weeks has been really good as we have trolled out and back on almost every trip and have produced many nice kings.
The four hour trolling trips have been really productive with Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, and some hard fighting Bonita's especially since the rainwater has cleared out and the seas have calmed down from tropical storm Debby.
However, the weather has been a bit choppy this month, forcing us to cancel a handful of trips, but we always advise you as to the weather and we always err on the side of caution.
We still have a few open dates available over the next couple of weeks and would like to invite you to come fish aboard a clean, safe 65 foot boat with a professional G rated crew.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores, Deep sea charter fishing report for the charter boat Intimidator
- Off shore overnight fishing charter trips continue to be absolutely amazing. Great catches of yellow-fin and black-fin tuna continue to be the headline for these trips. We have also caught several big wahoo and even had a white marlin jumping beside the boat on this past overnight trip.
With just a couple of weeks of the amberjack season left before the summer closure takes place, there has been a large emphasis on catching big Jacks on the day trips.
However, the most successful charter fishing trips this year have been our trolling trips and the six-hour trolling / bottom fishing charters. With the Spanish and king mackerels doing so well they have made the success of our charters a sure bet. They have also been a nice addition to the six hour bottom fishing trips as well.
We still have plenty of dates available for the coming 2012 season. Please consider us for your offshore charter fishing trip.

- Over the past several weeks the Alabama Gulf Coast has been fairly busy with tourists in town on vacation for spring break.

We have managed to stay somewhat busy and have had success in introducing new customers to the thrill of charter fishing along the Gulf Coast.
We have had good luck on the four hour trips with Spanish mackerel over the past couple of weeks. The main focus on the six hour trips have been the big trigger fish and Vermilion snapper that have showed up this Spring. On the longer day trips, we had a phenomenal catch of amberjack that has been as good as anything we have seen in years.
The offshore fishing report has been really good over the past month with great catches of yellowfin and blackfin tuna along with a few wahoo. However, with the high fuel prices it has been somewhat of a challenge to negotiate a trip that far offshore lately.
We still have plenty of dates available for the coming 2012 season. Please consider us for your offshore charter fishing trip.

However, we have made good strides preparing the boat for the coming fishing season. We have spent several weeks working in the engine room repairing and upgrading necessary shipboard systems to ensure your safety and to conform with current Coast Guard requirements.
The shorter trips will produce for you a great experience on the water. For the upcoming
Spring-Break we have introduced a new 5 hour charter.
This trip will provide for you a near-shore trolling experience and a basic introduction to bottom fishing. Quite simply we will troll near-shore looking for Spanish mackerel, redfish or bonito, then, we will work our way offshore so that everyone can drop a line to the bottom to catch some bottom fish.
There are many types of bottom fish ranging from four different types of snappers, different types of groupers and triggerfish.
The spring time is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to experience some of the near-shore fishing that the Alabama Gulf Coast has to offer.
We are currently taking bookings for the upcoming 2012 fishing season at this time. Call now to make your reservations to 251 747-2872.

On a recent two day off shore over night fishing trip we had a lot of big Triggerfish and Vermilion snapper as we worked our way home. From that point, we centered our focus toward catching Amberjack. In very short order, we had our limit of big jacks on the boat.
With the big green egg grill cooking potatoes and steaks we rode off shore to deep water production platforms that also serve as our yellow fin tuna fishing grounds. Once we arrived we found the big black stands to be biting anything that was dropped over the side. After a little bit of fishing, the big yellowfin tunas showed up and in grand fashion put on a show. We were lucky enough to land six really nice yellow fin tunas much to the enjoyment of the crew and the charter.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores, Alabama fishing report - The weekly deep sea fishing report for charter fishing trips aboard Intimidator over the past week were extremely productive. We have had great catches of big fish on the long overnight trips that are very popular this time of year. Read more...
The blackfin tuna have been biting very well on the heavy diamond Jigs. The larger yellowfin tuna have been biting but have challenged us for all that were worth in trying to catch one. However, we have had pretty fair success with them with Michael Tackett catching a 155 pound yellowfin last Monday morning.
I finally caught A wahoo last week which is only the second one for the year.
The amberjack continue to impress not only in quality but in quantity, there has been a lot of big Amberjacks.
The shorter trips and bottom fishing is pretty fair as well considering the work temperature is now at or above 90°.
We have been catching some really big Vermilion snapper and white snapper. We caught some big pretty scamps on the first day of a three day last week.
We still have a few available dates open in the Fall and we would love to introduce you to some of the best fishing during my favorite time of year to go. Schedule a trip from September to December. Now is the time to book, please send me an e-mail and we will make the arrangements for you.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores, Alabama fishing report - The weekly deep sea fishing report for the charter boat Intimidator. Over the past week we have had some terrific offshore overnight fishing trips. On our most recent blue water big game trip, we caught some of the biggest blackfin tuna's ever. Some of these Blackfins were in excess of 20 pounds! The yellow fin tuna bite when you can get to Bluewater has been really really good. Many of these Tuna have been in the 80 to 110 pound class.

We have not seen the late summer / fall run of Wahoos yet but they should start showing up within the next couple of weeks.
On the full day deep sea fishing charters we have caught many large Amberjacks to 40 pounds, big triggerfish, and some whopper vermilion snapper.
However, the four and six hour trips continue to be the most popular charter of the year. On the four hour trolling trips we have caught many big Spanish mackerel this summer. The big king mackerel are starting to show as well. On all the six-hour charters we have been catching Spanish and king mackerel on the way to the offshore fishing grounds. Once we get to the bottom fishing grounds we have been catching white snapper, Vermilion snapper, triggerfish and many other reef fish.
There has been a lot of interest lately in Shark fishing and we have caught a few but the water temperature is so hot right now this is proving to be a little difficult.

Orange Beach / Gulf Shores, Alabama fishing report - Weekly deep sea fishing report for the charter boat Intimidator - for the first week of July. The six our bottom fishing charters have produced some of the most fulfilling family adventures we have seen in years. There have been a lot of new people visiting our area and many of them chose the family style fishing trip. Everyone left extremely happy with big smiles on their faces, with great catches of red snapper, white snapper, Vermilion snapper, king mackerel and big triggerfish.
The longer day trips have yielded many of the same species of fish along with scamp, and red grouper for their many reasons and choosing a longer fishing trip during the 2011 red snapper season. Many people have opted out of the longer charter fishing trips this year during snapper season to go for shorter trips but, all of them will be back for the opening of amberjack season on August 1st.
The offshore overnight trip reports have been simply horrible. The yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna and wahoo bite has basically been non-existent unless you have the time to go 170 miles to find blue water. Many of the overnight people have chosen to reschedule for later in the fall unless they are completely satisfied with bottom fishing for two days.

The combo bottom fishing / trolling trips are new to the charter boat Intimidator for 2011. Basically, it is a way for us to offer you a basic introduction into bottom fishing. Our only typical combo trip like this, we will simply troll out to near shore bottom fishing grounds and allow anglers to fish for up to an hour or so. At that point, we will start trolling back to the beach in an effort to save on fuel costs yet allow anglers to enjoy some "reel time".
The 6 hour bottom fishing trips are always a big success with anglers that just want to fish. With all the limits in place we can just catch what we catch and keep what we can keep, but, the bottom line is to get out there fishing and have fun! Follow us on

The report from Offshore has been kind of mixed lately, but consistent with Blackfin tuna on the shallower oil rigs on the 18 hour and overnight charters.
On offshore the yellowfin tuna action has been spotty. When we are at the right place at the right time we managed to catch several fish quickly then the bite seems to stop as quickly as it started. Although we have not fished during this passed week, we have made good use of our time by rebuilding our Penn fishing reels that are used on a normal day to day basis. This is very tedious time-consuming work but the reward is, that if you hook the fish of a lifetime, there is very little chance of tackle failure being blame should your fish get away.
All of the big sharks we caught over the past couple of months have wreaked havoc on the majority of the tackle, but we are ready for the fight!
Most of these sharks, are well over 200 pounds and average 5 feet in length. They are formidable warriors that will put up a tremendous battle for you once hooked. Now, most of the Gulf Shores shark fishing is generally all catch and release but you should expect the fight of your life!
It appears that most of the Redfish have moved offshore and have completed their annual spawning migration run that takes place in the winter time right up on the beach.

The highlight of the week was a 170 pound yellow-fin tuna along with several other smaller yellow-fins plus a few Wahoos. The near shore fishing report is Redfish are still a hit or miss but are still the most affordable way to go fishing.
While fuel prices have risen about .60 a gallon, a fuel surcharge maybe coming our way. We hope to keep the cost of a first class fishing trip down to a minimum, but some things like fuel, we can't overlook. If you are thinking about a deep sea fishing trip this year by all means, give me a call and let's talk about it,

We are putting together a busy fishing season along the Alabama Gulf Coast and hope to welcome you back to the beach some time soon. We still have plenty of days left open for charters at this time and we are always just a phone call or e-mail away for you to contact us. The fishing report has been a little spotty with some of the cold weather roaring through this past week but the Vermilion Snapper, Triggerfish and King Mackerel have been the 6 hour highlights so far this year. The Redfish bit really well early in the week, but the highlight was the slick calm weather in the middle part of the week that allowed us to catch some really nice big King Mackerels on 30 pound light tackle outfits. The Charter was mainly a group of friends in town to go deep sea fishing. The vermilion Snapper and Triggers were biting but they were a little further offshore due to the cold water temps. We are now booking trips for the upcoming 2011 season, so call today to make you reservations.

We are still working with the University of West Florida to gather information from work ongoing since before the BP Oil Spill. The fishing charters have been good for the big "Bull" Redfish just offshore of the Alabama Gulf Coast. We normally troll for these guys to find the school then we may cast to them with light tackle to allow anglers the opportunity to catch a trophy size fish. We are wide open in booking trips for next year, as people are now calling and e-mailing about reservations for their date in the 2011 fishing season. We do have some ongoing winter specials that you should take advantage of now! If you are a snowbird then give us a call to price your fishing trip, we are fishing during the holidays so call us today!.

The Near shore 4 hour trolling trips for Redfish continue to be very productive and extremely popular this time of year with people at the beach on vacation. The Redfish have been averaging 15-30 pounds and fight like a mule!
The offshore fishing report from the Gulf of Mexico is really good at this time. Several of the boats did fish on Friday and Saturday, and they caught a White Marlin, lots and lots of Blackfin Tuna, good size Amberjacks and one really big squid that was 30 pounds or so.
It looks to be rather cold the next several days but should warm up nicely late into the week. There are plenty of dates open for a deep sea fishing trip and we would love to go fishing.

The Redfish and King Mackerel have moved on to the local beaches. The near shore fishing has been really good with a stellar King Mackerel bite on Friday afternoon. The Redfish are averaging 15 to 30 pounds with the King’s from 12 to 18 pounds.
As you can tell there is lots of good fishing to be had this time of year. When the winds blow offshore from the north, the waters are slick and calm near shore and can make for some of the best trips of the year. Now that the holidays draw near, consider a deep sea fishing trip a good way to spend time with family and loved ones.
We fish year round with a professional courteous crew aboard the Intimidator, give us a call for your next charter fishing trip. Gift Certificates are always available for those anglers that have it all.

The Gulf Shores fishing for Redfish on the shorter four and six hour trolling trips is really starting to take off as the northerly winds start to blow this time of year.

The Red Snapper seemed to be getting bigger and bigger with catches up to 23 pounds. The Amberjacks are also biting very well with a great catch of them on Friday up to 42 pounds. We were lucky enough to catch a big monster Wahoo in the 90 to 100 pound class. The big Triggers are here and biting like crazy. We have been concentrating on Snapper on the fall weekend Snapper season but during the week we have had great catches of Triggers. The big Bull Redfish have finally showed up this fall and will be here until February. These big fish will weigh anywhere from 15 to 40 pounds and can keep a rod bent for a long time! We have lots of different types of fish to catch and types of trips to offer you. Now is the best time of the year, so come on!

"the tremendous fall fishing season continues".

The weather has been absolutely amazing this fall with mild temperatures and moderate seas. As we move into more of a winter time fishing pattern in the month of November, the red snapper and Amberjack bite will continue to remain nothing shy of amazing. As the weather patterns start to shift to more of a northerly winds flow the big massive schools of redfish will start to show up along the Alabama Gulf Coast this month and make for some great opportunities for light tackle fishing. These fish can average from 15 to 40 pounds and will school by the hundreds in search of food in the shallow waters along the beaches of the northern Gulf of Mexico.

We ran an offshore overnight fishing trip on Thursday and Friday with great catches of Amberjack, Red Snapper and Triggerfish. Then moving on into the weekend, the weather started picking up but the fishing action did not waiver at all. The great charter fishing trips of the past couple of months just continue to improve and the
fishing reports will reflect that as we have time to post them. In talking to other fishing guide from around the area the big Redfish are starting to show up, so get ready for some red hot catch and release fishing! As we move into this coming week, The Gulf Council will be meeting in Baton Rouge, La. to discuss the future of the fishery and related management issues as well. I will let you guys know what comes out of this meeting.

The weather was nice and cool, although breezy at times the deep sea fishing was red hot! It has been a long time since I have seen fishing this good for Red Snapper. We ran several fishing trips over the weekend and I am so glad to see people out fishing and enjoying the time on the water. Even though it was a bit choppy, offshore there were a lot of boats fishing and people around town seemed happy. Maybe the weather will hold up for us this next weekend as we are fishing a good bit this coming week. Please keep up with the

Today the NMFS made the official announcement about the fall Red Snapper season 2010 in the Federal Register which was no surprise to me at all, as I reported a month ago. Also today, the NMFS announced another opening of the offshore waters in the very southern part of the current closure that is still in place. We did get to go fish inside the closed zone on a research trip with the University of West Florida and I am glad to tell you that everything looked normal to me and the fish were really biting well. We still have some really good openings for the fall snapper season and the week days as well. Come on down lets go fishing. The theme lately on the boat has been more focused on the small families here in town on vacations or locals, just wanting to get back on the water that they missed so much of this past summer. In years past our attention has always been in the offshore area and the longer trips, but I must admit that these trips are a lot of fun. It is nice to finally meet all of the families, of the people who have been chartering us for years, while on the boat fishing. It is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon with the family. If you would like to introduce your kids to the exciting world of deep sea fishing then come on down and let’s go fishing.

We caught some really big red Snapper and whopper Amberjacks. The water was a little choppy in the morning, but the weather calmed on down as the day went by.
There are still no signs of oil on the surface of the water and things are really looking good going into the Fall Red Snapper season. The latest information that I have on Amberjacks is that it will close sometime in October, but there has been no official word yet on when. The Snapper season will close on November 21st just in time for the Fall and Winter runs of big bull Redfish along the coastal beaches. The Gag and Red Grouper are open right now but it will close on January 1 and will stay closed until June some time. However, the deep-water Groupers will be open like Scamp, Yellow edge and Snowy’s. The offshore rigs are still in closed waters where we like to Tuna fish but hopefully this will open up soon for us to have some fun down there this year!

Depending on the landings of the current Red Snapper season along the Gulf Coast we could potentially have a fall season. I do not have any plans to run my boat in the vessel of opportunity program that a lot of my fellow fisherman have done. I will continue my work with the University of West Florida for their on going studies that we signed up for back in 2008.

The local governments have started some pretty aggressive protection and clean up plans. We will be involved in the behind the scenes inner workings of this mess to get it restored to the way it was before the oil moved in. The harbor of Orange Beach is now closed to all non-essential clean up or governmental work vessels. Coming out of the Gulf Council meeting last week in Gulf-port, Miss was the possibility of a fall Red Snapper season. Depending on the landings of the current season along the Gulf Coast will depict if this will come true or not, but we will let you know as soon as possible. We are still looking in to the option of moving the boat to other very near by ports to continue to try and fish as long as we can.
I do not have any plans to run my boat in the vessel of opportunity program that a lot of my fellow fisherman have done.
